Despite the rain outside, the crowd at Omar’s was hot. This of course was due to the fact that the fashion flock migrated to the popular boîte last night to fete lingerie brand La Perla on its 60th anniversary. Cohosted by Vogue, the cocktail party also toasted Dr. Lisa Airan, Hannah Bronfman, Pippa Cohen, Rula Jebreal, Jessica Joffe, and Eugenie Niarchos. “When we set out to curate a selection of lingerie that encapsulated the best of six decades, we looked to none other than Vogue,” said Suzy Biszantz, La Perla’s North American CEO. The room was filled with iconic moments in lingerie history, from a sixties bralette set to more campy eighties high-cut lace versions. “What’s more exceptional than those fashion stories featuring a La Perla–clad Naomi Campbell or Cindy Crawford?” exclaimed Biszantz as the crowd including Amirah Kassem, Liu Wen, and Jamie Bochert took in the pop-up gallery. But the highlight of the night? The sinfully sexy cage vest sported by Beyoncé at the 2014 Grammy awards as she performed “Drunk in Love,” prompting Airan to reminisce about her sweetest La Perla moment. “My favorite La Perla pieces are the white lace and satin ones I wore on my wedding,” she said with a sparkle still in her eye. “I still have them and love them years later all the more.”
