Though a few critics have noted the surprising return of saxophone to pop music this summer, it’s not every day that you hear it in progressive electronic music. But Anenon, aka Brian Allen Simon, often puts sax in his instrumental work, tempering its typical bombast with layered ambient textures, lending it a deep, almost spiritual quality. Simon characterizes this project as an attempt to “chase the notion of the sublime.” Before the full album, Sagrada, is released on September 23, take a listen to “The Color White” exclusively on Vogue.com.
