While girls have the LBD to rely on, gents actually have a tougher time when it comes to dressing for the holiday party season. Thankfully, Chinese-Canadian pop sensation Kris Wu has been quietly studying the ready-to-wear collections, and last night at Burberry’s Beijing boutique, he debuted his first effort with the English house: the “Kris Wu Edit,” which comprises five looks. Modeling some of the pieces was Wu himself, in an outfit made up of a cashmere coat, tailored top, tee, trousers, and cool kicks that redefined the notion of “festive attire.”
For Wu, years of honing his fashion acumen—as part of popular band Exo and then on his own as an actor—have clearly paid off. Last night’s look exemplified the sleek, sophisticated, and easy ensemble for guys that can go from the office party to late-night dinner with friends.
Wu’s look works across all generations thanks to a clean palette in shades of navy, moss, and black. A slim overcoat lends a structured touch acting as a warm alternative to a blazer. Keeping the underpinnings cool are an army green collared shirt and white T-shirt for subtle contrast while ankle-zip trousers let Wu highlight his slick kicks.
