There are certain movie moments that have an instant impact on the fashion world. In the early nineties it was Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct and her dangerously chic little white dress (with matching coat). Although far less risqué, actress Dakota Fanning sent ripples of admiration along Rodarte‘s front row this afternoon when she stepped out in an all-white look by the Californian designers. Asymmetric hemlines have been popping up on the runways all week, and Fanning’s tonal slit-skirt look was right in line with the current mood. The styling is worth noting here too—a necklace accented with a padlock—polished and punk in equal measure.
