In case you don’t know, the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is taping today in New York. While facials by celebrity facialist Georgia Louise and soul-crushing workouts at Dogpound are part of the Angels’ pre-show checklist, for some models walking the show, a new hair color is in the cards, too.
Last week Bella Hadid visited colorist Jenna Perry at New York’s White Rose Collective to give her signature brown hair color a seasonal hair fresh. Perry took Hadid a few shades darker, transforming her faded hair into a rich chocolate brown.
Although Hadid is usually game to try any hair trend — whether it’s baby bangs or ’90s banana clips — she rarely colors her hair, which Perry confirmed with Refinery29. The colorist told the site that the model’s hair color was a least a year old when she arrived at the salon.
Perry told Refinery29 that the inspiration behind Hadid’s look was, in fact, Victoria’s Secret. “I was inspired by a lot of the Victoria’s Secret catalogs from the ’90s,” Perry said, mentioning former VS models like Helena Christensen and Stephanie Seymour. “Their hair color was just so rich and mysterious. They owned their brunette in a crowd of blondes — I just wanted to take [Hadid] to that same place. A little darker, deeper, and less basic.”

Since Hadid is relatively low-maintenance when it comes to her hair color, Perry told Refinery29 that she used a semi-permanent color from Wella to get rid of the red undertones from the model’s past dye job. Eventually this color will wash out, but Hadid will be able to go a couple months before needing to dye her hair again.
Hadid gave everyone a sneak peak of her new hair when she was spotted leaving her fitting for the show in New York earlier this week. I mean, look at that shine.
But, you’ll be able to see Hadid’s new hair color in all its glory once she hits the runway tonight. Even though the show isn’t airing until December 2nd., you know the looks are going to be all over Instagram once the models walk the runway.
