Has everyone been properly introduced to Cleon, the monster-sized winter storm currently hunkering down on a big ole’ chunk of the country? If not, it sounds like many of you will be making his acquaintance soon—especially if you live anywhere in or around the Midwest and South. And, much like when things get scorchingly hot, extra sartorial precautions must be taken.
Layers are an obvious must, but the reality is that most of you work in a place that’s heated (hopefully). So what do those long-johns do once you’ve settled in at your climate-controlled desk? From personal experience, I can tell you that the base layer will backfire and you’ll be uncomfortable all day. The fact of the matter is sturdy outwear is going to be your best defense. And while trenches, topcoats, and field jackets are all nice, and certainly stylish, sometimes bringing in something more serious is the solution.
