Katy Perry as HRC, Kylie Jenner as Christina Aguilera, and More Celebrity Halloween Costumes

Halloween has yet to officially go down, but that didn’t stop celebrities from stepping out in their best costumes over the weekend. Kylie Jenner channeled her inner Christina Aguilera with a take on the singer’s “Dirty” music video moment—replete with facial piercings and a skimpy red-and-white stripe triangle bikini top. The youngest Jenner sister showed she had the right moves to match, too, posting an accompanying Instagram video where she is dancing to the track.

After that tribute to a pop princess came an homage to royalty of the most legendary kind, courtesy of Emily Ratajkowski. The supermodel chose a gilded Cleopatra look with a skintight bodysuit that put her signature curves on full display at the Night Halloween Party in Brooklyn, New York. But perhaps it was Katy Perry who was most deserving of the title of unofficial Queen of Halloween. The singer delivered an uncanny take on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s red pantsuit from the first presidential debate, and even went so far as to enlist a friend to play the part of Bill Clinton. We’re with her!

This is Hulaween: Bette Midler Hosts Her 21st Annual Bash in New York City

Marc Jacobs and Bette Midler

The ultimate Halloween revival has already happened. On Friday night, Bette Midler hosted her 21st annual Hulaween bash in New York, and suffice it to say, the gathering set the bar well in advance of the official holiday proceedings. The legendary EGOT-winning actress arrived to the (supposedly haunted) Waldorf Astoria wearing the most bewitching of party garb in an ode to her character, Winifred Sanderson, from 1993’s Hocus Pocus. “Don’t tell her it’s my idea, but we need Hocus Pocus 2,” joked Kathy Griffin. The Mistress of Ceremonies was dressed in a decidedly couture take on the Snapchat deer filter costume. “What’s funny is, I’m in Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, a Dolce & Gabbana tux, and a cardboard cutout of a Snapchat filter,” Griffin said. “But for Bette, it’s a small price to pay.”

The evening, which benefitted the New York Restoration Project, raised  significantly more funds during the live auction that was held in the lead-up to the main event: a costume contest judged by Marc Jacobs. His judge status disqualified the designer from being considered for a trophy, but Midler was quick to point out that Jacobs would have otherwise won the title for his female bodybuilder suit (replete with turquoise string bikini and a sterling-silver belly ring) paired with Christian Louboutin peep-toe stilettos. Jacobs was accompanied by Char Defrancesco, who served as the male counterpoint to the fitness scenario, and walked the red carpet with a green juice in hand as a prop. Guests however, were treated to a decidedly more indulgent three-course meal. The decadent Halloween-themed spread included vile-varmint pumpkins (miso greens sprinkled with roasted pumpkin seeds and candied pecans in a sherry vinaigrette sauce), graveyard meatloaf (ground meat drizzled in a blood-orange glaze with whipped purple potatoes and acorn squash on the side), and double trouble cauldron bubble (salted caramel and dark chocolate mousse fudge brownie bites with kiwi gelee). The menu proved a perfect precursor to the dancing that followed, as Darlene Love got the crowd grooving to throwback tunes including “The Boy I Love” and “He’s a Rebel.”

Beyoncé Channels a ’90s Rap Legend for Halloween

Photo: Courtesy of Nikki Nelms / @nikkinelms

Beyoncé has always had a thing for badass alter egos—yes, Sasha Fierce, we’re looking at you!—so it only makes sense that she would channel a woman with legendary swagger for Halloween. Some of the singer’s millennial fans would be too young to remember the hip-hop band known as Salt-N-Pepa, though for anyone who grew up listening to hip-hop in the ’80s and ’90s, Beyoncé’s look last night was a clear tribute to rapper Cheryl “Salt” James. A quick Google image search of the band throws up all of James’s  style signatures—8-ball jacket, Kente-covered kufi, and heavy gold dookie chain—in fact the outfit that Beyoncé wore seems to be a direct reference to the cover art of the group’s greatest-hits compilation.

To be clear, Beyoncé wasn’t at a Halloween party, rather the birthday bash of a close friend. Costume parties are apparently very popular with her nearest and dearest—just a couple of months ago, her husband Jay Z threw the singer a party that was Soul Train themed. And given Beyoncé and Blue Ivy’s track record for killer twinning costumes, chances are they’ve got an epic mommy-and-me Halloween fashion moment in their bag of tricks for tomorrow.

Amal Clooney Has an Alluring New Look for Date Night

Photo: AKM-GSI

As a world-renowned human rights attorney who also happens to be married to one of Hollywood’s most famous men, Amal Clooney is constantly under the media microscope—especially where her wardrobe is concerned. Last week the Internet was abuzz when Clooney unveiled her fall denim look, and now it seems she’s turned her attention to date-night style with a new lingerie-inspired ensemble.

Of course boudoir dressing isn’t anything new, in fact the look has been percolating on the runways for a few seasons now. Cate Blanchett was among the first to pick up on the trend, and wore a Givenchy jumpsuit with a robe-like silhouette at a film festival in London earlier this yearKim Kardashian West has worked the idea into her street style repertoire on several occasions, and Rihanna has championed the slip dress more times than we can count. Clooney’s approach to the trend is decidedly more wearable, and her structured lacy camisole hardly seemed OTT paired with causal skinny jeans and studded Balenciaga sandals. The bomber jacket did much to loosen the look, too; a game-changing sexy-cool layering piece to take into the night, indeed.
